Barossa's delectable local produce

What a great tradition! Steeped in a long history of home produce the Barossa Valley, north of Adelaide, has established a farmers market full of mouth-watering goodness. When on a recent tour of the winelands over there I popped in on a Saturday morning and started with a trademark and gooey organic egg and home-cured organic bacon roll. Local produce is what the Barossa and Eden valleys do exceedingly well and it is displayed in abundance and originality here. It makes it all the better when you have engaging aussie yakka behind the stalls and plenty of roaring laughter (that shattered the brain after the excesses of a Bonnie the night before). They do it so well. Connecting fantastic locally produced food with local characters in a vibrant atmosphere. I could have spent the day here gorging on pigeon pies, blackberry frangipani tarts, and snowcream truffles, washed down with some of Radford Riesling. But I had some more research of the valleys to do…

Nice one Jo – love it! I think had you had a sneaky rizza for breakfast you might have been right back on track!
